First off...my apologies for not following up this past Friday with a link to
last week's Presto Pasta Night Roundup...that was me hosting over at
Once Upon a Feast. There were lots of tasty treats and I'm sure this week will be no exception. Chaya ,
Comfy Cook extraordinaire is hosting and I know her roundup will be fun - after all , it's her third time entertaining the rest of us.
You still have time to whip some pasta up and share with her. Just mention and link to her in your post and send your link to

Although I've already made my pasta dish for the week -
Spinach and Cheese Stuffed Pasta Shells, I couldn't resist these super-sized fusili called Fusilloni.

Around here we seem to prefer short pasta to long (although I'm a sucker for
bucatini - those long thick pasta that's actually hollow for heavy meat sauces and thin & wispy pasta like
vermicelli, spaghettini or angel hair with a delicate shrimp sauce). My Honey, likes things a little less messy (I do tend to wear a lot of sauce when I eat long noodles) and my little grandsons have their own reasons for short pasta...
Dov at 16 months, loves the tactile feel of using his hands. His older brother, Boaz at 3 and a half likes to use a fork and we all know that short pasta is easier to pick up. Shocking but true, I don't have a photo of either. Good thing they're coming for supper tonight and I'm making our tried and true, all time favorite recipe
Grandma Hazel's Meat Sauce that she got from an Italian chef back in the 1940's and has passed it on to two generations since. So stay tuned for the photos. I'll be adding them to this post later.
And don't forget to send your pasta dishes to Chaya before tomorrow (Thursday, May 13th) so she can post them on the Friday Presto Pasta Night Roundup. Send your entry to
