A Great Spring Presto Pasta Night Roundup

Sara of I'm a Food Blog was our awesome host for this week's Presto Pasta Night Roundup. She did an amazing job with great commentary. Don't know how she did that with her mouth full of fantastic pastas, but...glad she did. Asparagus seemed to be the starring ingredient. Spring is definitely here.

Garofalo Pasta Needs Very Little Help

I recently received a couple of packages of Garofalo pasta to try....I'm always open to trying new products, but I only write about the ones I love. And these cuties....I love! It's from Gragnano, Italy and is very popular "back home". Hopefully it will become a household name on this side of the ocean as well.

The bag of lumachine is waiting for a cold day so I can make some soup. Those tiny "snail" shells will be so good with a brothy, tomato based soup with lots of seasonal veggies and herbs.

The bag of penne mezzani rigate (which even sounds delightful - Italian is not the language of love for nothing!), on the other hand, is empty...sigh! These miniature penne made an awesome quick dish of pasta, so simple there really is no recipe....
...just add some creamy goat cheese (Ran Cher Acres right here in Nova Scotia is awesome and my first stop at the Halifax Farmers Market) as much as you like to hot, freshly cooked pasta - the heat will melt the goat cheese into the creamiest sauce ever; add some fresh vegetables - it's Spring so blanched asparagus and baby spinach were tossed in this time with a juice and zest of a lemon and some freshly ground black pepper. It's the perfect adult Mac 'n Cheese.

Presto Pasta Night #113

Patsy of Family, Friends & Food did a brilliant job of hosting this week's Presto Pasta Night Roundup - #113. And each and every entry looks awesome! I was away when it was posted on Friday, but now that I 'm home....and I plan on spending a lazy Sunday afternoon, wandering through "Pastaland".

New Pasta Making Tutorial

I finally wrote the post for Home-Made Fettuccine using my latest kitchen toy...KitchenAid KPRA Pasta Roller Attachment for Stand Mixers . It took way longer to write about it than it did to make the actual pasta.

I hope it's helpful to those, who like me...get a new toy...er tool, and stare at it forever before getting up the nerve to actually try it out.

Anyone out there with tips, please share them in the comments of the actual fettuccine post.

A Terrific Presto Pasta Night #112

I love pasta, it goes without saying. And this week - Presto Pasta Night #112 - everyone shared brilliant dishes! I don't know where to start...cavolo nero is finally available here and I do love it....shrimp...well we know how much I love that...baked pasta...stir fried noodles...my head is spinning from all the fantastic choices.

Tigerfish of Teczcape did an awesome job hosting and providing the commentary...in case the wonderful photos weren't enough! Bravo!!!
