What Inspires Your Pasta Dishes

Just a quick question....well, perhaps a little background... Last night I made pasta inspired by a completely non-pasta recipe I found in the latest Donna Hay Magazine - Issue 40 and it got me thinking about how I get my inspiration for pasta dinners.

Often enough, I'm just inspired by what's in my fridge and pantry. Sometimes it's by an actual pasta recipe in some magazine, cookbook or on a cooking show and I just take things a little further or replace some ingredient I DON'T have with one I do. Sometimes it's a conversation that sparks my interest.

So back to the question....what inspires you're pasta making?
